Do any of you use this stuff? I have used it at a previous aerospace employer. We used it in remanufacturing of turbine engine cases.
It’s essentially a super high strength filler and glue, it’s black in color and comes in the form of a thick paste. Needs oven curing. Only problem i noticed with it, is it tends to hold gas bubbles and trapped air, but even still it’s very strong stuff. I would machine the Hysol on a milling machine after it was cured inside of a gear case. I never thought about how it would be applicable to composites, but Loctite says it bonds plastics together. You can build this stuff up really thick.
Ok, just realized there are many different products in the Hysol line. The one i have used is as said above. the hot melt sticks… can be dispensed with Hysol glue guns … on the same website below.
