Can anyone tell me, what is the best hybrid composites based on natural fiber for automotive application, for example to build a body. For your information, my lecturer suggest that pine fiber + silk +glass fiber with epoxy or furan.
All depends on what you have available. My prime choice would be flax and biobased polyester resin, but that is because I have it available.
Also look at the energy consumption during manufacturing and transport. This basicly outrules glass and basalt (both biobased materials actually) as fiber, and balsa as core.
