Hello, Composites Central Members. I am a retired engineer helping a group of youth in my area build a composite human-powered submarine hull. We’ve done two of these before, both fiberglass layup using one-off construction techniques. This year one of our teens asked if we could build a fairing to make a mold and then use the mold to make 2 halves of the sub which we will assemble together. I’m all in, but this is a new method for me, too. Additionally, we’ve been donated 60 yards of 3K 2x2 twill carbon fiber. I’ll be asking lots of questions.
Awesome project. This forum is filled with great people and also threads. I’m sure we’ll be able to help!
