This is a center piece on my 240SX that covers the radio area and around the shifter. I’d like to make one from carbon fiber, but I need to somehow KEEP the bracketry on the back so I can clip it on.
Can anyone give me tips on how I can make this?

Anyways, Is it possible you could do away with the clips and use something else?
do you need a molded piece or is overlaying an option?
I’d like a molded piece because there isn’t much room for expansion. Plus I would like to make a few of them to sell.
Any ideas? I could do away with a few of the clips as long as there is a couple to keep it in…

I am tring to think of something, what I usually do on things like that is just double sided tape or cut clips off and glue back on to the new piece, but if you are planning to make more and sell that really is not economical

Alright… well if you guys can think of something that would be cool. I’m clueless as of now… but I may try to come up with something. Picked up the fiberglass and PVA today… so after the mold is done I’ll see what I can do.
I have a mold right now that will help give you an idea of how to make the mounts in the back. Basically you’ll need to make a second mold and figure out away to get them to sit in the right place.
your best bet is to just overlay the original piece. making a complete replica of the mounting frame section is way to much work for a beginner.
Well what would you guys think if I made a mold of the back side and epoxied them together? Would that suffice?

The motor isn’t actually in the car yet… it will be in a couple months. I need to sell my CBR to fund it. I have lots of pictures of the engine however…
This was when me nad a buddy disasembled everything, cleaned the turbos/manifolds/block (painted block), and swapped oil sumps to RWD and new gaskets. It’s sitting in storage right now waiting patiently… it’s killing me because I want to get it in ASAP. Still need about 3-4kk in parts though… definetely not a cheap swap. My wallet is really taking a beating.
