I got some air trap in my part after I pull it out from the mold(carbon fiber wet layup), what is the best way to fix those ugly bubble trap in the part(bubbles are pretty big)? I’ve been thinking to sand it down and just spay some clear coat. Would that work? What would you do?
Don’t bother fixing them on the finished part. Just make another one, and be careful to work out the bubbles when laying up.
Most air pockets are from not enough resin, too fast curing (too much MEKP % to PER) and / or playing with it too long.
Start over but to just practice, try a syringe with mixed PER and inject the pockets. Let it fully cure, add a top coat, let it cure, then sand and spray a clear top coats, sand and polish…
when you do wet carbon lay up, how can you tell if there’s bubble trap under the carbon since carbon cloth are black and can’t see through like glass cloth.
Working with the resin in the liquid state and adding extra in the mold before laying in the CF and while rolling or brushing it up thru the cloth…
