How to cut Cured Carbon

I am trying to find some new ways to cut 16"x16" carbon fiber sheets that the resin has been cured into.

When we run demos at work we end up with material that is flawless in weave pattern that just sits there.

I have started to cut rectangular pieces with regular scissors. How can i make round holes?

I was thinking of clamping the carbon piece to wood and drilling, but i need to drill some holes that are approx. 2" dia.

What are some suggestions for cutting round and square piece of dried material?

band saw or a router? With a router you can make a jig that will allow you to cut perfect circles…

Or perhaps find a super fine-toothed hole saw?

diamond hole saw
the router works very well for intricate designs also, I use it on a few items

Thank you all for your replies!

I wonder which bit would be the best to use for the router? I have a very large 1 hp router i use for wood and a small dremel.

I am sure you guys are probably referring to something similar to a dremel tool for the router correct?

The sheet is so thin that i think a swa would seriously damage the carbon. I can afford to experiment with different tools. i was just hoping for some direction and insight.

not that you all haven’t already but, could you please use actual tool names? Maybe even state the manufacturer and size of the bit/saw/saw blade?
thanks.

are the diamond bits really needed?
