How the Heck do you spray gel coat..

Just wondering while im looking at a new mold i made to prepare for gel coating. HOW THE HELL do you spray parts that are hard to reach!? lol. heres a small drawing.

Im talking about the area marked, !?!?!?!?! lol

Also, how do you lay down carbon around these areas!??!? =(
i know i could cut a circle out, but how!? when laying it down on a b staged gel coat,… how do i avoid messing up the carbon i lay down?

I take it will be clear gel coat for CF?

First off, I would practice using any color gel coat and FG to get the hang of it.

I also would have aded a flange at the square section to spray them seperate. Then bolt them together to lay it up.

You will need lots of practice to get the CF in there with that tight corners without distorting the weave.

Are you going to vacuum bag these or VIP?

That tight corners will be a B!T(H and more. Maybe make a latex or silicone over piece to help force it against the tight corners?

Good luck!

that is going to be nearly impossible to either spray the gelcoat or lay the carbon!

you can just brush that area, no one would ever know the difference if it is color gelcoat. with clear you might notice but its worth trying to brush that to. but unless that part is big or you try a airbrush you will never be able to spray that

i drew the part wrong by the way, its move like a very wide V then a U… much more open then that =)

ill try what i can first with fg, then move back up to carbon. thanks guys.

any technic with the cutting hole in the carbon/fg??

are you spraying with a pressure pot? you should if you are not, then you can put your gun in upside down in the mold. what size hole you cutting?

1.5" circle. maybe 2 " diam.

not a presure pot =( … using a gel coat gun

go to www.samplemarshall.com, they sell diamond coated hole saws, bandsaw blades, cutoff wheels, and more. cut composites very good. if you start using a spray gun with a pressure pot you can put the gun in upside down. but if your using color gelcoat I would just brush it in.

i know how to cut … its more so spray that piece
