my guess is,
over lay on top layer. fabric is layed at specific angle with a crease down the center of the fabric and making almost a shark fin. wet laying both sides and then trimming the fin off with scissors. sand, gel, and clear.
or second guess. wet lay into the mold same way but opposite to where fin is folded under the hood. then fabric is layed over the folded over fin. then placed under vacuum. top layer conforms to the original contour of the mold face but underneath you can see the slight thickness of the fin.
what do you think guys?
I don’t know but I’m definitely gonna try it the first chance I get.
In order to get the weave in the opposite direction you would have to flip over one side of the fabric.
2 part mold?
here is a sort of the back picture

thats what I’m thinking, split it right down the middle. lay up one side and trim the edge. put the halves together and lay right onto of the other.
to me it looks like there is strand down the middle,

yeah there is a strand down the middle
Are you trying to tell me that’s woven together? Crazy!
You could always cheat and run a thin pin stripe over the center before you clear coat it.
yep it is DAMN!

these guys make some crazy stuff, here is a hood made with denim, like jeans denim

This is cool

hmmm… I wonder what this is.

“our own specially woven “V” weave material.”
Custom woven 2x2 twill. It doesn’t cost that much if you order the whole roll.
so I pay $1800 for a normal roll. what do you think I could get that for?
and Evan comes to the rescue with the material
Might get a roll, can you get me a price for a roll Evan?
You… don’t… seriously pay $1,800 for a normal roll… do you?
Anyway, custom weave starts at $2,400 or so per roll depending on the material you are requesting. Carbon, graphite, glass, hybrid, etc.
50" or 60" ?
60"
60" , oh yeah what is the cheapest you can get just a roll of normal 5.7oz twill in 60" as well
