How do you guys finish your cf after it’s fresh out of the mold. I am currently wetsanding , than automotive clear coat, than wetsand then final clear. This is time consuming, is there a easier way or better way looking for your help thanks
I put on usually 3 coats of clear with sanding in between.
Sweep on a coat of resin if there are pinholes. Oven cure 2 hours, then sand.
Spray on surfacer, oven cure, sand smooth.
Spray primer.
Spray final paint coat, and it comes out flawless!
Why do you have to use a oven cure, do all resins need to be oven cured ?
Only smooth wet sanding and buffing. Only in special cases the parts will be clear coated.
DDC- what kind of resin are you using, I’m using polyester now and after a wer sand it’s to soft to not cowardice it. I would love to skip the clear coat process.
This in mould coating

in combination with an epoxy resin.
It looks like they don’t ship to the usa. The country isn’t listed when you are checking out. That really sucks too. I was looking forward to trying this stuff.
Matte Clear Coat, anyone ever try it?
If so any difference in how you would wet sand it?
Brand recommendations?

After ordering some flat clear for my powder coating setup, I was just wondering where to get this stuff (paint) the other day. I don’t know if you could wetsand it?
Yes. I’ve done alot of parts with a matte or a satin finish. Alsa corp makes an additive for clearcoats. Works really well. No difference in wet sanding that I have used.
I have heard that different techniques in the wet sanding process are required. Just not sure exactly.
So it’s just an additive to regular clear coat to dull out the gloss?
Yes.

I’m sure other companies offer something similar. Alsa has been the only paint products I have used for the past few years.
