How do I repair cracks and scratches in epoxy?

Can I just sand clear coat lacquer out and repaint ?

I afraid it will go deeper to carbon layer.

depends on the cracks.

If they go all the way through the laminate you’ll have to add a patch on front and back. If they’re part way in, you first want to make sure theyr’e not a sign of bigger damage. When carbon gets struck it can leave minor damage on the surface but have delamination underneath.

I’ve repaired some cracks by infusing resin into them to try to get the inner parts bonded back together. Of course you can just fill it in with resin on the surface and I’m sure it’s better than nothing. Better is to patch it or remove material with a grinder and then replace the removed material with the same number and orientation as the original.

This also all depends on what the thing is, what it’s for, is it just cosmetic (fairing) or structural (beam).
