How do I? High-end part overlay

Came across this guy on ebay, which his prices are steep, the work looks superb.

I can go experiment with different processes and ideas, but does anyone have any experience with how this guy is creating such a flawless looking overlay on OEM car parts?

I just picked up a black on black Range Rover Evoque and want to replace anything non-black inside and out with carbon overlays. Mainly because I am not going to build actual carbon parts.

Attached are some examples of his work.

They want $2200 plus part exchange for the front grill alone.

This has been on here before , I’m not sure what thread. His video’s shows a good example of what he does Lots of coating and sanding and polishing , simple process with a perfect result. That’s why they are high $$$$
Lots of labor involved.

I should have been more specific with my question. I have laminated parts before, I am just curious what the trick is to laminate parts and follow these complex shapes without messing up the weave.

And yes, it is a lot of coats of resin, followed by plenty of sanding.

I did search for it, but was unable to find it. If you happen to find the thread, please let me know.

Or ignore me, I found this.

The main issue for me isn’t the weave it’s the resin. I have yet to find a resin that is clear, room temp cure, and doesn’t pop off of plastic…

Easy composites uses a “skinning base coat”. What is that? Is it a quick cure epoxy died black?

Probably just a dyed first tack coat. Some people use spray glue which I thought was always a bad idea and some use a tack coat. The “basecoat” is typically tinted encase you use 3k and have some pesky gaps. If you have a black part then no need to tint, but I always have found it better to use a coat to tack

Oh my… Just looked at his site… even wrapping motorcycle front mudguards is mega expensive. A simple Yamaha R1 rear mudguard is $545.00 (£380.00) for a wrapped part. I only get about $200.00 or (£150.00) for one of my full pre-preg carbon huggers that also protect the swingarm!

I could never get away with selling a full carbon part for the price he has for his wraps… Even $2000 for a grille. If I could get that much I would be making them from carbon…

I know right. I need to up my prices I think.
