How can I get rid of these very small air bubbles?

Hello everyone i am new to this forum

I am making the headlight cover with epoxy resin infusion. I have found some very very small air bubbles occur in the inner edge where the fabric with less pressure pull down to the mould. I could not find even 1 bubble in other place except the inner edge. Anyne knows why cause this? Is there anything i did wrong causing this problem?

Thank you very much…

Porsche?

Slow down your infusion. It takes a while for the resin to saturate the carbon well.

Also degass your resin, and use dry materials, or use heat or vacuum to dry your materials.

^^— This. Degas, let the carbon sit for awhile under vacuum in case your storage isn’t the ideal, and slow down the infusion, so the tows are fully wetted out. Try your best to get the material down in that edge?

Guys thank you so much for your reply. Yes it is for the 997 Carrera…

We are using the dry fabric as well. Should i degass the epoxy before or after mix up with the harderner? What is the proper way to degass the resin?

To slow down the infusion how can i do it? Since i have switched off the vaccum pump during the infusion. I just rely on the resin trap to pull the resin out from the mould.

Degassing: Check this video, where my colleagues are messing with silicone. I just degassed it for them, so you see my feet and hands during the degassing. Degassing starts at 1 minute or so.

Slowing the infusion: use a smaller diameter inlet, and/or slower infusion mesh.

Degasing the resin is very important, especialy at thin laminates. You can use a resin trap or an exsikkator.

Thank you so much for the video!!

Btw i still seeing bubbles are coming out after 25mins degass. Should i keep on doing it until no bubbles coming out? This photo was taken after 25mins degassing.

When degassing, you REALLY only have to let the bubbles foam up, and then drop back down. It may boil for awhile, but sometimes the resin will change on you, and your pot life will diminish (we had someone accidentally degas for an hour, start infusion, and it cured in 10min…when the potlife for the resin was 5 hours!!)
If your potlife is a long time, and you don’t have to worry about time for infusion, then yes, let it boil for a little bit.

Don’t shut the vacuum off until it has gelled/cured!!! As herman said, smaller inlet tube, or slower flow media

Try do start degasing, whenn there is a lot of foam on top shut down the vacuum, wait for 15 min and start a second run to degas. Normaly there should be no bubbles in the second run.
Your parts seems to be very thin, try to infuse with a very slow flow media, may be without any flow media.
Very important is a brake zone (or MTI hose) because you may suck out too much resin and create the pinholes and airbubbles.

Yeah I got it!! Big big thank you for everyone here!! Will show you guys the finish product later after trimming…

Is that a standard sheet of tempered glass on top of your degassing set-up Herman?

Herman awesome degas setup cant believe I didnt think of it. You are the man!

Totally missed the question by Findhan. It is an acrylic sheet.
