How can I bonding these two part each other?

Hey Guys,

I have made that part by 3 layers 245gr prepreg carbon fiber.And I need to make one more from this to other side of the handle,Next step is bonding these parts together.In these case I am looking for your advices.Which adhesive is the best for this application?

Wall thickness : 1mm

Plan and design before you laminate…

Now you can make the second, then bladder mould some overlapping strips into the mated parts. Not at all easy.

Sand the mating surfaces with 80 grit, acetone wipe, and bond with Hysol 9430. Next time you can lay up the mating flange with peel ply to prevent having to sand before bonding.

There is no flange. It is a 1mm butt joint.

I have heard expancel microspheres(Akzo Nobel) to mating the composite parts.Do you think guys can I use this product for my applications? I also found some videos on youtube about it.It seems pretty good.

do a search on the forum, there is more on expancel. but it’s used for pressure in internal bladders, not for bonding I believe.

Need to add an inside flange to nest the parts together. And then modify the tool to create a joggle.
