Hitch Covers

Spent the weekend in the lab working on some molds, so I figured I’d show you all my ‘side jobs’.

Hitch cover under vacuum (used stretchlon 800 and Silmar 249 resin).

First one I made (obviously for a Toyota FJ Cruiser):

I was going to refinish the edges, then I saw it in the sunlight and ended up ripping it apart to redo…was not happy with the results. Really need to get better lights in my lab too…

Here’s some other ones I made for Christmas gifts…just used some vinyl stickers I got from my vinyl guy for the lettering:

-GE

Looks great!

Are you using epoxy? Reason I ask, does the vinyl react at all with the resin? Obviously what your using it does not.

The TRD ones are epoxy, the FJ one was Silmar 249…just trying the different resins to decide which I like better. The epoxy is a little more finishing work but I think I like it better than the Silmar.

The epoxy ones look nice. They seem to have a deeper black and color to them unless it’s the lighting or angle your pictures were taken from. Cool project.

Hi, can I buy a TRD hitch cover from you?
