Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew of any high temp resistant epoxy resins (350F - 500F) that cure at room temperatures and without the use of autoclaves. Such a resin would be useful in the making of valve covers, etc. Thanks.
None that I know off. You can call fiberglasssupply and see if they carry any. I know their stuff has higher temp resistance than most at normal room temp cure. Other than that I do not know of one that does not require proper post cure. The stuff I know that does this do not have a clear finish to it and they are not laminating resins.
I use PTM&W’s Hi-temp tooling resin on my valve covers, it will take 425F but at $90 a gal it’s on cheep.
Yup,
I ordered a gallon per Joe’s recommendation. It’s $125/gal though and not $90. Maybe I need to double check the invoice to make sure. But even at $90/gal it’s still not cheap.
