high clarity gelcoat for carbon

Im looking for a gelcoat with very good clarity for use in cosmetic carbon parts. Many Gelcoats create too much colour cast.
any ideas?

Are you infuseing

I can recommend the one i use. Its a UK manufacturer called Formite who do alsorts of other resins and adhesives. The gel can be thinned down and sprayed on to the mould, left to cure and then continue with infusion. Its UV stable and can be polished but finish from a decent mould is excellent. PM me for more details.

The polyurethan in mould coating in transparent from HP-Textiles is very good. It is absolute clear/transparent and UV stable. Can be sprayed or painted is tack free when cured and works excellent with epoxy and polyesther.

I wouldnt use a gelcoat if infuseing :s can get perfect results that are ready to clear coat

If aou work with a perfect polished mould you do not have to clear coat;) And you have a polyurethan surface on the part that can be lightly sanded without scratching the fabrics and you will not have problems with the clear coat on the epoxy. It is easyer work.

Yes Im infuseing and I prefer to use a gelcoat as it just relieves alot of problems. Yes you can get good results with Infusion without Gel but some pinholes are common and slows down the process.
thanks for the recomendations.

My clear coat is simply far superior to any resin with uv protection so yes i do have to clear coat

The IMC is a polyurethan gelcoat, a modified clear coat like that one that is used in the automotive sector. So the IMC is just as good as a clear coat. It is not a UV stabilized epoxy or polyester.

Ill stick with sickens superior lol
