I’m an aircraft maintenace engineer on small piston aircraft but most of my composites work occurs in my backyard.
There’s not a great deal going on around here. Recently, the only 2 supply shops merged. I get a lot of gear from overseas as its hard to source locally and even if you can, it’s too expensive.
I think I paid 100euros to ship 10m of carbon from Germany and it was still cheaper!
I’m building a street/race car at the moment and trying a few things. It’s all experimentation and self taught. Made plenty of mistakes though.
Sometimes I test techniques at home and use them at work and other times vice-versa.
