Hi de Hi from Montpellier, S'th of France

Hi fellow composite lovers - here’s a brief bit of info about myself.

I’m based in the South of France and I’ve started producing carbon kite foils recently. My name is Chris Middleton and no Kate is not my cousin before you ask…

It has been a steep learning curve but the journey is really interesting even though I’ve still got loads to learn. hence the reason for joining this forum.

I’m a 3D designer ‘old school’ pencil paper, shaping, drawing and plug making. Rhino I can use but am limited due to the programming side of things - my brain struggles with it for some reason. Illustrator, Quark, Adobe In Design, Photoshop no problem but as soon as I move into 3D - it become not quite as simple….

I’ve been kite foiling since the beginning of 2008 and my passion for beautiful products has driven me to design and build numerous kite foils culminating in this latest design the Sencillo that works really well.

My personal objective was to create a static kite hydrofoil that is easy to use - kite foils are a little acrobatic to ride with to say the least. I’ve spent a good deal of time trying to make early foils go faster than 30knts and they had started to become really technical & dangerous to ride with so…. In a flash of inspiration I decided to take a step backwards and create a foil that was easy to ride.

Hence my arrival on Composite Central. Quite a few question running around my head and voila (to coin a franch word) I look forward to chatting with you.
