Help me :(

Hello Guys,

Been lurking around the forum for some time trying to pick up diffent techniques.

Im having a little trouble at the moment. I have made myself a mould which is perfect and have spent many hours sanding and spraying to get a lovely finish.

Now I have tried to do a wet layup using West System 105/205 resin and I have layed my first thin layer of resin on to the mould, allowed for it to go tacky then lay my carbon fibre which has adhered to the mould. I have then left this 24 hours and applied more layers of resin including more carbon.

I pulled the part from the mould this morning to find it having dry patches all over the part (Not enough resin?)which has pee’d me off lol.

This brings me on to ask the pro’s do I need to add alot more resin or do I need to find an epoxy gelcoat? Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. I would really love to show my first part off on the forum as I absolutley love this stuff but I am getting nowhere :frowning:

Thanks all

Wade

24 hours is a long time for epoxy. You probably need to do your layup faster for the epoxy layers to stick properly

go to infusion m8,its the best way once you learn it :)can you show us a pic of the mold/part?
