Hello from Somerset, UK

I’m very new to composites, been busy taking moulds from my racecar to make carbon version to lighten things up a little more.

Learning quickly but I’ve a very basic knowledge of what I am doing…

Was just going to wet layup these panels and parts but have now been looking into vacuum bagging or even infusion…

Lots to learn before committing to expensive carbon.

Still looking for parts and materials without paying too much. Parts/materials seem very expensive as apposed to the US.
Anyone willing to share links in the UK please help

Anyway, I’m sure I;ll have loads of questions but happy to go through the many pages here to pick up more info.

Rob

Welcome Rob!

Vac bag or infusion is the only way to go with carbon. Yes the initial setup of vacuum pump can be expensive but its well worth it in the end. Dont expect things to happen straight away - trial and lots of errors is the key to getting a reliable technique. Start small and work your way up.

I get most of my supples from East Coast Fibreglass. Easy composites have a decent range too. Both places offer outstanding advice and service.
