A good set of sharp shears should be good enough not to snag the weave. I love my EC Cutter as it just slices though the material with ease and cuts quickly with one hand.
i brought a pain of metal duct cutting sissors/snips.sheers what ever you want to call them. the blade is about 5 inches long, are these good enough for composits
Thanks for all the info. I found some real good ones for fiberglass and kevlear at www.fiberglast.com and will be using EC Cutter for larger projects.
…
Thanks Glenn, I was looking for that website to post too! They have great scissors for Kevlar but only use the same scissors for Kevlar only as even paper will dull them.
I also get Friskars from Home Depot (around $12.00 with the black grips) for fiberglass and CF. They take the acetone bucket great too!
You dont have to go through fiberglast to get them. Call Gingher direct. They are only $7.50 or so from them. I use the Nylon/stainless.
i got the $20 kevlar shears from fibregast and been using them for 2 years. Probally cut over 100 yards of kevlar with them and i use them with all my carbon and they are still as sharp as the day I bought them
Orange handled, titanium nitrided fiskars. I cut the shit out of fiberglass and texalium and I cut some kevlar/carbon hybrid fabric the other day without a problem.
I think I paid 10 bucks for them at the Home Depot.
Here kitty, kitty, kitty…opps wrong Friskars…:o
