My friends,
I have to visit the forum for a long time and now here I am. My friend Eric from US ask me to create for him a new Full Carbon Fiber Headlight Panel and 4 pcs for Tank panels. Dear Eric here we are:
looks great!
how did you make that? did you use a 2 piece mold? or just 2 pieces of carbon joined together in the middle?
do you have any pictures of your mold?
Yes the mold is two pieces, thats why you see the stripes “V” on it. To be honest I don’t have any pics of the mold but I will try because they are interesting and some other friends from the forum.
Looks great, so that means you used 1 piece of carbon laid in the 2pc mold?
Nice upper fairing What resin do you use?
I use the first mold (let’s say right side) with CF 3 layers and when is cure then I do the same with the other piece. When this cure too then I connect them together (of course I make all the necessary cuting edge) and put cf to the middle. Now when that finish I take them out and I add geal coat to the connection lines.
This specific panel is with Dow epoxy resin.
Looks good.
will you be fabricating a set of goodies for the new busa??
Not yet but who knows in the future:D
George, can you add photos of the tabs and mounting brackets on the backside of some of your composite parts?
New ideas is always nice… I’ll share some of my ideas if you share yours
Here’s some example:
This is the Hayabusa Front nose panel:
The mountings are Teflon, in the center I have a hole with helicoil for screw.
