Gentleman,

I’ll introduce you my new creation  for the super fast Suzuki Hayabusa GSR1300R with three diferent types of cloths:eek::

http://www.carbon-aramid.com/Bikes/Suzuki/Hayabusa%20GSXR1300-2006/Suzuki%20Hayabusa%20GSXR1300.html

-Carbon Fiber
-Kelvar
-Titanium

Any questions?

sweet!!!

what resin are you using?

Both, Polyester & Epoxy

Good work, but I don’t see titanium parts anywhere.

I think the “titanium” he’s refering to is the silver paint? Is the silver cloth Texalium?

HOLY FREAKIN’ SWEET JOB! Can you pm me and tell me how you made the molds?

Also… did you use gel coat or automotive clear coat to achieve a glossy surface?

Again… VERY nice job:cool:

If you are able, post up a couple pictures of them assembled onto the bike

looks great man! can’t wait to see it all assembled on the bike

As fastrr says, is the Silver Texalium cloth.

“Fastrr” I use both of them Gelcoat & Automotive clear coat off course. Thx

“dual twill” I will do it, give me some time to install it.

2 things.

  1. dont take the pics in natural light. take it indoors with good lights. you will not get the great affect of carbon from outside light unless u have it controlled. just my .2$'s

  2. id like to see pics of the insides of the side fairings. the Push pin type tabs aka “Nipples” and the inner fairings.

For the tail, how did you carefully position the cloth inside the mold, thats a preaty intericate piece to lay down.

George is a sand bagger!

I remember it wasnt too long ago that he was here having all kinds of problems and now he is making multi-cloth parts for a full sportbike…

Come on George!

In anycase, why dont you take some pics and explain your process to the newer guys here that want to play with the bike parts.

Hell EVEN IM CURIOUS as to how you fab’d your headlight mounts. Ive never built anything that would keep the headlight in place for more than a week or two of wheelies and bumbs.

How long did it take you to do it and how are you matching your differences in fabric when you do the carbon stripes? Im sure laying in that carbon exactly like you need it is a bear of a job!

Again, Im very impressed George…now show some of the guys here how to get it done.

he wont… trust me… lol

Ouch!!!

You are very bad luisn:p , why you said that:confused: ? Off course I don’t have a problem to explain the way to do it. The only problem is the work that I must find free (because now I have two works) time and the second which is serious, is my English:( .

Any way,
The way that I fab’d the headlight is with “Akylon” (something like Teflon, but not) I cut it in very small piece and then I cut it us the fabric mount. The think is that takes a lot of time to fix it but in other way you have very – very strong mounts. Now the way to stuck on it is very easy:
a) On the fairing put carbon-kevlar cloth and polyester or epoxy resin 2 – 3 layers around the area on the fairing. Wait to cure.
b) Take a super glue of two chemical ingredient and put plenty on the Akylon and plenty to the fairing. Wait 30 seconds and stuck it. You must press hard to stick very well. The reason that we use Akylon is because there is no any oil like Teflon. When you put this glue, don’t be ware for the rest of the glue, just with your hand split it around the Akylon and fairing. You must do that for the © reason. Wait for cure at least 2 days.
c) Then apply to the rest of the glue carbon-kevlar cloth and resin and cover whole glue, around the Akylon and some area of the fairing to be 100% strong with whole fairing.
This is the strongest way that I am using this moment. I fix a lot of bikes with this way and there is no problem.
The push pins I make it with the exactly way but I send it to cut it in turner shop. In the touching side with the panel I’ll just make a bigger radius for a better stick witht eh glue.

This project take me over 4 months to created, many wastes panels.

Now about the stripes. Each faing on the front there is 2 kinds of cloths, Titanium and carbon. The way to done a perfect line you must take a pen and draw on the mold when you have already cures the applied geal coat. Then you just cut the cloth as your way and put it on the mold. Now if you have a big fairing then you use two carbons sheets. One in the left side and ont on the right side. The connection must be in the middle because there is a small area to see someone the cut. If you see in very close the fairing you can see the cutting line in the air-exhaust. You must have patience and you must very cool.

Luisn, if you see my web site, all my products have inddor photos and outdoor photos. This project I forget it.
About the cloth for the back panel I make it with two people. The mold is in two pieces. I will put some old photos how I make it.

Any questions?

beleave me I am not proffesional, just my hobby. When I finish my morning job at 1800 then I running straight away to my lab and getting fun till 2400. My wife & my kids the are agree.
To be honest I start before a year and through this forum and the hours for do it, I make my hobby very interesting. Now I have unbelievable work from my friends and not. You see if you are making test everyday then every parts that you make is better and better.

oups!!! Sorry guys is my hobby!

Coming photos of the mold, be in touch.

lol no i meant you wont post what types of resins your using… name of brand and model. i know everyone likes to keep their secrets (and i agree) .

what kind of aligment are you using to put the headlight screws? ex: are u using just the headlight for that to align it?

on the tank trim / frame trim

can you show me the back side. i know this bike inside out, there should be a nipple thing on the back rear side. did you make it. i dont think its needed thou. curious can u take a pic if u did make it?

Luisn I want to be honest, I have already delivery this project and is little difficult to take again photos. But I can answer any question you want. About nipple, can you help me here what do you mean? sorry my English is not so good.

Now about the headlight, useally I ask from the customer to give me the headlight. After that it’s easy.

Cool beans. ! ill take pics of some hayabusa parts i have laying around.

Well George that is some fantastic work i am very very impressed. Do you learn fast only a year in and you can produce this, absolutely beautiful mate.
