Has anyone made any material racks?

Has anyone made any racks for their materials that they have pictures of??

emi emi where art thou?

he is in Japan cause he is moving there, I am buying his automotive section of his business in about a month. I have seen his racks and probally going to do the same as that

well I already built some racks like that but I wanted some more ideas, I will load pictures of mine

here are the 3 racks I built

rack 1

rack 2 - the top bar I measured wrong so it slopes a little on the right

rack 3

I still have a huge roll of cloth that is 1600 yards and weighs 450lbs I need to find a place for

Here is my other little supply room I keep everything that is flamable cause it has a sprinkler system. I also do all my mixing and keep brushes and such as well.

how high are the ceilings in your garage?
I just hang poles from the rafters with wire.

they are like 35ft ceilings :frowning:

fiberglast sells racks for $1,000,000

yeah screw that these only cost 150 in materials

for the economy models

I may take a stab at some this weekend as I’m going to need some soon. I think I may try to include a cover to the rack that would also fold out for cutting on

I don’t have time to take a picture this morning, but picture this all my racks are made of pipe.

Go to home depot and buy “floor flanges” they allow a pipe to be threaded into them and they have srew holes in the edges to allow you to screw them into the wall. I used anchors and screwed them into the wall.
I also screwed a pipe into the flange so it is sticking out 90 degrees from the wall.
Now into that I put a tee into that and a street elbow into that. at the bottom or top of the elbow, i added a 12-15 inch pipe depending on what is hanging on that roll. now i join them all together and it is a wall rack that holds all my cloth.

Geez, I hope that is cheap enough for you guys.

Dang Dougie, that is great.

I was just going to buy a bunch of steel tubing to weld up another roll cart just for the composites and vacuum bagging stuff for my classroom, but I think I might use your idea for the glass rolls and use the modified store cart I made (over the years maybe 50 hours into it alone) for the expensive supplies to roll and lock those up in the storage container…

Thanks…

Glad to have been of help. I know a few places nearby that discard a lot of the used galvanized plumbing. As people change to copper, they often take a mess of it and reuse some of the elbows. I can get enough in one trip to do almost one side. I only had to buy the floor flanges.

that is a really good idea!

OK, I will only charge $10.00 each for the idea…Like I’d ever collect on that one…ha ha ha.

Both my sons told me i have to be a cheap a&$ at heart in order to come up with an idea like that.

Put it on my account…on account I’m not paying…

I guess my sons never met you…
