I was wondering, has anyone/ is it possible to infuse with regular fabric for the image?
Essentially my friends wants a dessert camo print panel, and i thought, instead of painting it the camo, what if i got a camo print and used it as my first layer then had layers of fiberglass on the back and infused it? that way the print would be in the laminate and have a nice finish…
Possible? thoughts?
They make printed sufacing veil. I can’t remember who makes it, but I’ve used it before.
interesting. but how about stuff from like joanns fabric? will that stuff work?
im thinking in terms of sub boxes- some people use old t-shirts to stretch around the sub ring to get the contours, then glass over that, so in that sense, couldnt I apply that method to resin infusion and have it still work?
I made an rc car body out of an old pair of jeans backed by fiberglass before. It infused easily so I guess any type of fabric will technically work.

No. I was just playing around. It turned dark when the resin hit it and it didn’t drape at all in the mold so there were many creases in the fabric. Looked like chit, but it did infuse easily. 
I’m guessing that the panel is pretty flat? If so, then you should be fine. Maybe wet out a piece of the fabric by hand to see how the resin changes the look of it. Fabrics are used all the time in surfboard layup for aesthetics. Also, make sure it’s 100% cotton so it won’t stretch, compress, or do weird stuff during the infusion. Post some pics too when you’re done!

I did a wet layup with some hemp linen. It looks great. I would give it a try.
Yup! Flat with a filet 90*bend… The fabric I got is 100% cotton I believe 8.x oz weight… Should be here in a few days… Pretty excited to test it out! Will def post pics!
