Gun Stocks?

Anyone have any information on building one?

Id like to try it, with one of my rifles but Im hesitant to play around with it until I get how it works.

Remove the existing stock…a gunsmith would probably be the best person to do that…Flange it right down the middle, and make a 2-part female mold. Lay up the two halves of the stock separately, trim 'em, bond 'em together, and then I would shoot some high density expanding foam into the void. Make sure the foam has escape holes to expand out of. Finish the resin work, sand, polish, whatever…

I have read that many sniper rifles out there are available with Kevlar or carbon composite stocks, just because both are essentially inert, whereas wood can expand/contract with environmental changes.

Hmmmmm…I guess youre right.

Id still like to see at least a single success story on it.

Taking the rifle apart isnt something so serious…it requires you removing 2 nuts off of the ACTION to remove the entire gun from the stock.

Putting it back together requires the right torque values and making sure you can slide a dollar bill all the way up the barrell so you know that its only action bedded.

I do like the idea of just seaming them together…but Im worried about the forearm area…I guess Ill have to invest in some of that bonding paste!
