Greetings from the motor city!

Or what once was the motor city,

Anyways

I’ve got the composite bug. It started with machining in high school. Soon after I got hired into a shop that deals with aerospace molds and composite fixtures.

Now: I looks at damn near everything and see how it would be/can be/ should be done in a composite of some sort.

As with most other on the site, I’m another car guy. Performance diesel and has to be VW. Current build has taken 2 years of acquiring odds and ends. Not a huge market in 30 year old diesels…

Welcome fellow Michigander! Tons of great info here to read through…

I’m the same way as you are. Every part I see, I wonder how easily it could be made, molded, or made better. Becoming a machinist makes you this way, and being a mold designer myself made it worse.

What part of the state are you from? I’m on the very southwest side of the state right on the lake. It may not be the motor city anymore, but it’s still a beatiful state.

Take Care,
Jason

I was gonna comment on your intro thread, glad to see someone else in manufacturing still left here in the state!

I’m Just north of Detroit, right off the other lake.
