Great idea for epoxy cleanup..

I can’t recall where I read this, but allegedly vinegar is good for removing uncured epoxy resin from skin, clothing, etc.

Since I know acetone is a terrible thing to expose one’s self to, this would seem an excellent alternative.

All my composites gear is presently packed away, but if anyone wants to try it, let us know how it goes!

it works great! a month ago all acetone stuff was empty, so I tried vinegar, Ihad nothing else but vinegar and water, so I tried vinegar. Works as good or even better as acetone, and the best thing is that it’s natural. (but it stinks though…)

I’ve heard peaple using white whine also, but I’ve never tried it.

Waterless hand cleaner - works great too. Spilled a dab of epoxy some on a settee on the boat. OOPS - I was gonna be dead!
Grabbed rthe hand cleaner (used the kiwi green stuff - contents unknown) and CLEAN. Huge sigh and big smile from me - nasty looks from “she who must be obeyed.”

I have some of the US Orange - will post if/when I use it. Like the Vinegar idea - hate wasting wine.

will it works on polyester resin too?

My wife - sweetie- SWMBO - was helping me do a layup today - got some polyester resin on her hands - She , grabbed the Orange Goop/Stuff a bit of hand wringing (came naturally) then wipe with a bit of drop cloth - and good as new.
Actually she came running when I called for a “nose scratch” then got carried away and had to help. Cheers - Jim

Vinegar… nice. I’ll have to try that. I get resin on my hands at least 5 or 6 times a day.

It’s good to have materials that will remove resin from your skin. But the best option is to not get it on yourself in the first place!
How someone can get resin on themselves 5 or 6 times is a day is beyond belief. Gloves should be used at all times.
The most common route of entry for chemicals into the body is by absorption through the skin. You won’t last long with these unsafe practices.

I bought a couple boxes of gloves
