Grafil website has vanished

Mere days ago, I was researching tows from all the major manufacturers and comparing specs. I visited Hexcel, Toray, Cytec, etc., and I was positive I visited Grafil, yet when I tried to visit their website just now, I discovered that it had vanished, everything, even from google cache.

Baffled how it could disappear virtually overnight and wondering whether I had merely imagined visiting Grafil’s website, I used waybackmachine.com and discovered that indeed, the website has disappeared, virtually overnight. Strange.

Can be 2 things:

Either Grafil is gone, and their website ceased to exist

Or Grafil did something bad, Google-wise, like buying 1000s of links (the Chinese spammers, 1000 links for 2 dollar) after which the site has been “degoogled” which is a measure Google sometimes does.

Or 3: It was just a blip, as their site is working fine.

And when I search on Google for “grafil carbon” which is not an unreasonable search term, I get the Grafil website as the first hit.

Must have been a hickup then…

Interesting hickup. I see it is back online. I had tried dozens of links using various search engines and direct urls. Like I said, even the cached pages were gone. It must have been some server error.

Was bought by Mitsubishi http://mrcfac.com/ as was Newport

in the early 90’s, I guess what I mean is they are rebranding
