G200-6 External Mix help

So i picked up the G-200 external mix gun for a couple projects im working on that require lots of resin. Mostly Flat panels and stuff.

Im trying to figure out the external mix knob.

ES manufacturing says the catalyst can be adjusted from off to .5-4%. Just trying to figure out how you achieve the percents since there isnt much documentation on this other than setting up the spray pattern. Is each full rotation of the dial .5%

full right off
1 turn left .5%
2 turn left 1%
3 turn left 1.5%
…ECT

Just looking for help from other members that use the same gun and what they found works will be using vinyl ester resin at a catalyst ratio of 1-1.5%

Thanks

I use one of their G100 cup guns pretty regularly for spraying gelcoat on some small parts. If it’s volume you are after, I think you’ll be disappointed. I’d use a bucket and paint roller (3/8" nap x 9") before I would waste my time with an ES gun to apply resin. If you do use it, expect a lot of overspray.

As for the catalyst setting, I don’t know for sure but since it is a needle valve, I doubt the flow is linear.
