Heres a couple of new parts i did recently. They are spark plug covers for vauxhall 2.0 ecotec and 2.0 xe red top engines.Infused with 1 layer of 200g 2x2 twill and 3 layers of 350g satin weave.super light and stiff.
that is really great work! i purchased one of L shaped covers before and made a mold of it with the intention of doing what you have but gave up in the end as some of the corners looked way too sharp to get a good result from so well done
Thanks Stew
The L shaped one is the hardest to lay up.The cloth distorts very easily at the 90 degree part of the L.Doing some other vauxhall molds at the minute.Vauxhall stuff is pretty scarce in real carbon fibre. Was talking to a guy recently who was shocked when I told him the parts on his nurburgring astra VXR were fake carbon !
Looks great. What tecnique did you use?
Thanks jj
The parts were both resin infused and sprayed with 2k clear to finish off
can you post better pictures?
