Until now I’ve had a awesome detached shop that i could stink out with vinyl-ester resin fumes. I am just about to put an offer in on the home of my dreams with just one thing wrong with it, an attached garage no detached. There is plenty of property, i could build a shop or I could add on extra closed area to the existing garage. if I used foam insulation and exterior doors to isolate it from the attached garage would fumes find their way in the house? Has anyone had any experience with this what should i do?
An air cleaner with some carbon filters in it will go a long way. Exhaust out the garage away from the house, pull fresh air from towards the house. Shouldn’t be more than a few hundred bucks. A good one can clean the air in an garage about 10-20 times an hour.
I had an attached three car garage. I set a 5000 cfm exhaust fan in a window away from the house. Odor of the resin (PE) still got in the house. If you have the funds, I’d say build a separate building.
Same thing here. No way I can find to keep it out of the house. Exhaust fans, fresh air fan blowing into a room built from plastic wrap. Finally just had to do the smelly stuff outside.
I have had to resort to using expoy for everything atm cause the wife has had enough of it. looking to get a warehouse cause I cant seem to keep the fumes out of the house either.
Good to know. I think i will pay a little more and get the detached shop. Thanks guys.
