I have a mould I will no longer be using shortly (late August, early September). This mould produced 184 units at $1,465.00 a piece since early 2011. It is a 3-piece mould, epoxy based.
There is still a large demand for the product, it commands a premium over competitor models because it’s track record is excellent fitment. I will include the original plug as well which has a value to replace of $2,300.00 at no charge.
The reason for selling it is because we have some work (industrial) which requires nearly all of the company resources. Making these, although profitable, has become more difficult timing wise, it no longer makes sense for my company to continue in this market based on our present path. More and more of our tools are converting to aluminum on industrial type work or retail products for other companies we produce for.
The right person or company, can do a lot with this mould, especially those in the automotive market, it is an ideal opportunity:
- Market already exists for the product and customers seek it out.
- Long list of very happy customers with the product.
- Tons of marketing material, I lost count how many installed photo’s we have.
- 85% of the units sold are located in the US, remainder is Canada, Germany, Sweden & Asia.
- Mould availability is late August/early September, we have work in progress for 11 units pre sold which need completing before release of the mould.
The price for the mould is $4,650.00 including the original master plug (value $2,300 when bought new from Germany), fuse jig, a complete bill of materials for what we used to produce each part, as well as detailed info on how to produce the part if required by the purchaser.
Please bear in mind this mould yielded my company $269,560.00 in gross sales, it is a production mould, it’s service life can produce another 200 units with no issues, it is meant to run VARTM but can be done wet lay if so desired.
The price in my opinion is beyond cheap for what it is, what the purchaser is getting is a product already well known, already established with 184 units installed and more-over, the actual mould used to produce the part. If the buyer follows the market, they will have sales for the parts.
