This is something I started building a long time ago. After being lazy, I have gotten it to a state that I am somewhat happy with. It is a start to a build of a flat underbody for the car, which will happen one day when I have time and space. Finally in primer, and made it from the east coast to the west coast in one piece!
Please round those corners
OR go the Pikes Peak look…
Yes, my goal was to try and build something to increase downforce, but I still need a sturdy splitter and some testing
Maybe it’s just me, but I think that splitter has made that parking location indicator useless.
hahaha true!
For parking behind a car it works well, as the splitter doesn’t have anything to hit usually, but for parking against a concrete parking block it is quite useless I agree
Splitters a parking block… Omg I’ve been through three on my vette.
and please don’t drive it on the road after you go that far
How is it attached? You don’t get much downforce if it’s only on the bumper…you’d just pull down the bumper and transfer no load to the car/wheels.
giggles
This piece is technically just a “lip spoiler”, as it has no undertray yet- just attached to the bumper only. I will be adding a chassis mounted wood (for now) splitter underneath it. The bottom of the factory bumper will be trimmed away so that I can have splitter brackets up front right behind the bumper- to essentially make the oem bumper like a aftermarket bumper that is just an outer shell- so the splitter can be taken on and off.

bosozoku cars are rad, enthusiast “stylised” renditions of the silhouette cars from the 80’s…
i like where this is going… your lip that is not the bozo cars. any pictures or info on how you made this? progress pictures? keep it up!
Hey man, good job! I’m working on a splitter for my dual purpose track/street car as well. Here’s my current iteration, next step is a few more modification, and then a carbon fiber version. Hope yours turns out well, you’re definitely on the right track !
^
Nice! Do you have any more photos of the build of that lip?
I think a splitter so great is useless on a road car, if you don’t live inside the nurburgring track and your life floes more than 200 kmh…
Looks good…but I’d go back to who ever painted the side of your car and slap them!
I really should, it annoys the hell out of me. I’m hoping a professionally done cut, buff, and polish across the two panels will make it better…but i’m not holding my breath
Not any good ones, but here’s a couple, plus the slightly tweaked and properly painted version. Keep in mind all I really did was re-made the lip, the undertray part was meant for a 350z, which is the same as my car, but the lip section/where it connects to the bumper had to be remade with fiberglass and a tiny bit of bondo to wrap around and fit my bumper.
It’s not the prettiest, but it makes the front end grip seriously well.
Lol…that splitter isn’t doing anything remotely functional because you have no airdam. Those two giant holes in your bumper are completely negating any effect your cosmetic lip might provide.
Here is some background info to help you understand how splitters and airdams work TOGETHER to create downforce:

OP, I’ve seen this lip posted on CRSX. Is the parking indicator a cosmetic piece? If its necessary then it begs the question…if you can’t drive well enough to park then what makes you think you will be able to drive well enough to race?
