I picked up a tail fairing/cowl off of a 2007 Yamaha YZF R1. I want to replicate the part using c/f and kevlar. As stated i have the oem fairing on it’s way to me.
How do I make a split mold so the part can be released from the mold without breaking it or the mold? Would I use modeling clay to build a sort of dam where the part “brake line” will be? Then lay up the two or three sections at seperate times? When done join them all together.
This IS the part i have to start with. If it doesn’t come out good the first try, there is always try two or three.
