Food Safe Resins

Hi all, This is my first post to this forum. I have been lurking around for a couple months and have been trying to learn as much as I can. All of you seem like a great bunch. Thanks for making so much information available. My interests are in building/repairing race boats. However, my daytime job as a tool designer for a plastic container manufacturer has prompted me to explore a resin that can be used on printing mandrels. More specific, I need a resin that can meet the following:

  1. Must perform as an electrical insulator in a corona (not the kind that comes in a bottle).
  2. Must be food safe in the cured state as it will come in direct contact with the interior of drink cups and dairy containers.
  3. Machinable
  4. Viscosity must be low enough to pour/cast at RT.
  5. Must bond well to aluminum.

Although not required, I am under pressure to source a resin that has FDA approval. Unfortunately, all of my searching has come up empty. Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks,
Dennis Wright
