Hi all, This is my first post to this forum. I have been lurking around for a couple months and have been trying to learn as much as I can. All of you seem like a great bunch. Thanks for making so much information available. My interests are in building/repairing race boats. However, my daytime job as a tool designer for a plastic container manufacturer has prompted me to explore a resin that can be used on printing mandrels. More specific, I need a resin that can meet the following:
- Must perform as an electrical insulator in a corona (not the kind that comes in a bottle).
- Must be food safe in the cured state as it will come in direct contact with the interior of drink cups and dairy containers.
- Machinable
- Viscosity must be low enough to pour/cast at RT.
- Must bond well to aluminum.
Although not required, I am under pressure to source a resin that has FDA approval. Unfortunately, all of my searching has come up empty. Can anyone help me out here?
Thanks,
Dennis Wright
