Flexible VE

Im currently doing some trials for an impact resistant consumer product using aramids and diolen. The product also needs to be quite flexible (not for impact reasons but it is convenient as a result!) so Im trying some flexible epoxies and polyurethanes: Sicomin 8150 epoxy and Polytek / Polycraft polyurethanes. Resin choices are governed at the moment by the ability to purchase such things in small quantities for trials but I was just wondering about a VE resin also. Ive never really used a flexible VE, could anyone recommend such a product (that can be sourced in Europe in small quantities) ?

I know its unlikely to perform as well as the epoxy for example, however, it would be nice to have a lower cost alternative as well to balance cost/performance options

I am not aware of truly flexible VE’s, but there are polyesters used in roofing, that are flexible. (Carlo Ricco R14 for example)

Ah no problem thanks, I must check out that polyester but Im guessing it may be too far behind the epoxies structurally. Thanks Herman

There are flexible VE’s that have an elongation to break around 18-19%. Check out a few of the VE Suppliers they should be able to help.

Hope this helps?

I will do thanks, was just hoping for some ‘easily available in low quantities ones’. he he. Ill update here sure when I get places, thanks.
