Is there any flame retardant resin on the market, even for resin infusion? Need to buy some for an University project in Germany.
How much redardancy would you need?
There are haloginated resins, which would infuse.
With open style fabrics (Scott&Fyfe Polymat) we were able to infuse polyester resin with 180 parts ATH in it, good for a very high classification. We recently did a load of fire-tests.
I need it for a battery box for an electric car. The rules don´t specify a value. What would you recommend? I need 10kg -20kg. I will use an aramid 170 gsm with 5/1 satin harness fabric.
Isn’t this where phenolic resins really do well? I have no idea about the viscosity for infuse ability.
Yeah, Phenolics are good fire retardant resins. Derakane has a VER that is bromated for this reason. 510A and 510N. 510A is our normal VER infusion resin. Usable with Trig or MEKP, DMA and Colbalt napth. for cure.
Any links to products are appreciated.
Ask the company MC Technics in Belgium, or a distributor of Nord Composites (google will give results)
