First Overlay Attempt

Hey all,

I thought I would post up some progress on my first overlay attempt. I prepped these A-pillars for my drag project 92 bmw 2 door. I am planning on saving a bunch of weight on the car with my new found love for composites. Anyways while waiting for my vac forming supplies I tried out an overlay to see how well the carbon forms to a piece. I used 2x2 5.6 oz just one layer and so far so good. here is some pics

Nice job! Straight weave and everything. What kind of resin are you using? Are you taping the edges over to apply tension on the corners? Post more pics!

Im stuck out of town for work for another 10 days or so, updates will have to wait :frowning: I did get 2 layers of resin on before I left, When I get home I will lightly sand them and do one more round of resin before a coat or 2 of automotive clear.
