First Gel Coat Gun ???

I’m thinking I should try one of these gel coat guns.

Fiberglass Supply has them for $118, but I thought I saw them for less somewhere else.

Are they easy to use?
Is there anything I need to know about them?
Do I need to order cups, tips, and liners?
On fibreglast, it says it would NOT catalyse in the gun. Is this true? Or is that a different gun?

I’ve never sprayed gel before. So I need all the advice I can get.

Thanks in advance.

You will need to order cups more than anyting else. Tips on the other hand really depends on how well you maintain them.

There is no needle on a dump gun. So when you are not spraying, you have to make sure the tip is pointed skywards. Otherwise paint will drip out.

You will also have to experament with line pressure, and spraying distance. You get different results, with different gels, at different pressures. Once you hone in on what works, your all set.

no this is the model that won’t catalyse in the gun

es200 is about $200

cheapest I’ve seen the es100 is about $95 bucks

Polycraft has (had) a version of these but a little cheaper and with PE (resin doesn’t stick to it) lids.

You can get (I still have almost a full case here) like 36 oz cups from Smart and Final to use on these guns.

Above statements are on the nose too!

Are your case of cups for the above ES200 ? If so…I need them…can you PM me a price please ??
Cheers,Vinny

Yea, let me dig them out and get a count. These are paper toss aways and not the PE as shown…
