first attempt @ infusion

Hi, i’m planing on attempting my first ever infusion and i wanted to know how i can lay the CF fabric into the curved part of the mold such that its sticks or conforms to the curvature of the mold and the weave pattern does not get distorted. is there there some spray adhesives i can use or there’s other ways of doing away with the spray. any help will be greatly appreciated.

Handle the fabric very carefully. Don’t pull or it will distort. You can use any spray contact adhesive. But use very sparingly. Spot apply. Note that any place you have contact adhesive it sticks. So you can only put down fabric once. It will not move/slide with contact adhesive. It also will distort fabric when you attempt to pull it up to replace. It can be done but takes a learning curve. Only use adhesive to hold on verticals. Physical testing done with epoxy and graphite have shown no measurable compromise when a little contact adhesive it used. If you have a trim area on the mold and part, then direct apply the contact adhesive to the mold for the first pli of fabric. Since it gets cut/trimmed off it doesn’t hurt anything.
