just some final trimming on the headlight (you can see it sitting in one of the pics) and bolting everything together. 65cc machined engine (mod list on other thread) and was clocked at 52mph on my brother (120lbs) on level ground/altitude w/o the body fairings.

What the heck is this?

i was tring to figure out the same thing!

Did you apply the resin yet?

Here you go

oh and by the way it is badass!!

actually the original plan was to have the seat wrapped, so i didn’t bother putting mold release. i decided last minute to make a full replacement, so when the seat cured i ripped it off and im redoing it. going to be doing a fiberglass mold, laying gelcoat, etc. kinda sucks i wasted that fabric though.

the side fairings are just regular wet layups. i may replace them in the future though. here are the latest pics… notice the rippped seat haha.

Is it me or does the surface look coarse?

You need some frame sliders cause if it gets layed down thats going to suck. :frowning:

you are correct, it was all wet-layup and i only added 2-3 layers of resin for most pieces because this bike sees the track only. with it’s 65cc engine and all the balancing/porting/lightened parts and the 36 tooth sprocket in the back, the bike is on moderate gearing and can hit 47mph on my weight and still haul really hard torque on the turns. because of this, i’ve expected for the bike to crash a few times, so i didn’t want to make show-quality pieces for the bike.

i had to raise the bike with a dnm fireball shock too so i wouldn’t crash as much from the very very low footpegs. if you’ve seen these bikes stock, you would laugh at how low the footpegs are to the ground. for the best handling, i had to raise them up.

edit: im thinking of putting on frame sliders somehow, but the bike’s been dropped a few times already and it’s held up VERY well, surprisingly well actually. they are still pretty flexible and the only parts that get damaged are the mounting locations for the headlight to the side fairings.

You should try finishing them with a clear top coat. I would also suggest molding the parts if you plan to lay it down sometimes. This way you can pop a new part in a day.
