I am making a mold for a spoiler/undertray for my car. Had to make 3 parts to the mold for proper release. I’m using PER and 1.5 oz mat to build up my mold on top of 20 mils of tooling gel coat over the plug. Along one of the parting flanges (90 deg inside corner) I noticed a bit of a void between my mat and gel coat (maybe 1/4" bridge instead of laying into the inside corner). My question is, Is it possible/recommended to drill 2 small holes (one on each end of the void which is maybe 6" long) and fill the void with resin through a syringe or something? I have a lot of time and material in this mold and would like to save it if possible. Any sugestions would be appreciated
Yes i dont see a problem there. i have even cut and shut a mold before to make an adjustment worked a treat.
