FibreGlast message board hacked!!!

Did anyone else catch it…?

that’s what happen when you don’t keep it updated. previous versions of the message board have a lot of vulnerabilities. If you have an account there with the same password to other accounts like emails and paypal, etc. you should go and change it before it’s too late

yeah, i left there pretty quick yesterday

yeah I saw that too!

So did I Jeremy, but I didn’t run my usual 4x spy/adware and CA Virus scan before shutting down my computer (first time a week or two…) last night and now the 'puter won’t start up today…

I goes to the second start up screen and then stops and some funky letters and symbols are at the bottom…but touch any key and it repeats the same funky stuff…

I tried to F8 key it to go to a safe start up (to scan and other steps), but it won’t go there…

I’m on my wife’s laptop to post this.

Any 'puter geeks out there care to chip in? SBC DSL service, CA virus protection with SBC, XP, 2.8 Gig, 512 memory…?

HELP!!!

JM

That sucks. Do you have the emergency start up disk?

try the boot disk, if not PM chelapa, he’s the resident computer guy i’m guessing. he helped me with some other stuff.

After pressing F8 at boot up try selecting the “Last known good hardware configuration” This will revert back to a previous saved registry. It’s usually designed to be used if new hardware was added and now the system won’t boot.

Or

Try booting into Safe Mode. If you can get to a desktop, then go to Start> Programs> Accessories> System Tools> System Restore. Follow the System Restore wizard & roll back to a date before the computer stopped booting.

It sounds like some system files got corrupted. The other thing to do if you can get the system up & running is to run an Error Check on your hard drive. You can do this by Opening My Computer & right click on your hard drive icon. Select properties. In the Properties window, select the tools tab & then select the Error Checking & check both the options when it runs.

It wouldn’t get to the place to go to those setups…and after calling on 3x 'puter geeks and we tried everything… I pushed the floppy disc drive (yes, I still have one as I have a Sony Mavic floppy disc camera to take pictures at the track of kids in the race car and then give the floppy disc to the parents to have…) and it ejected my EBAY disc with the pictures of the HD Kevlar roll I post at EBAY on Sat. morning…

I went to “safe mode”, did all the checks and everything is A OK!

Oh yeah, & I forgot to mention… Did you check ot see if there’s a floppy in the drive!

Glad it worked out.

OK, where do you change your password at? I looked in the FAQ help, and it didn’t say.

which version is newer?
