I have made something that is a bit too lightweight and flimsy so I need to add an extra layer on the back in some areas to stiffen it up.
Question is . How should I prepare the surface? The current surface is perferated release film finish. Can I vac another layer to this finish or do I need to scuff it with 80(?)grit then wipe with acetone?
Depends on the resin matrix…
But to be 100% for sure, it doesn’t hurt to sand and wipe with acetone before adding another layer…weather hand laid or not.
