Have any of you guys developed allergic reactions to epoxy? If so how do you avoid it and if not how did you avoid it?
One question I have off the bat is how do I get it off my skin quickly? I wash with soap and water but it leaves this residue on my hands. Is there anything non toxic that epoxy will dissolve in?
I am, but not too badly to all epoxies mostly the more aggressive ones like tooling epoxies. You should be able to find a good epoxy that does not bother you too much if at all. I have delt with this problem for over 10 years. I suggest you always where disposable nitro gloves under latex, latex will not protect longer than a few minutes from epoxy. Where latex over so that you can change the latex often. Also it is possible to have an allergic reaction on your hands without getting any on you. I have gotten allergic reactions just from breathing it, so where a respirator. get some tyvek sleeves so you dont get any on your wrist and arms. Also if your laminate isnt 100% cured it is possible to have an allergic reaction from sanding/trimming. People have said vinegar works good but I have never tried it. I always quickly wipe it off with a little acetone then wash with warm soapy water. biggest thing is to not get it on you at all ever.
also slower hardeners will be less aggresive than fast ones.
Try vinegar, it dissolves epoxy.
