Has anyone tried running colored thread threw a sewing machine to do embroideries? Like Glass/Kevlar/PET or even normal thread although I’m not sure normal fabric thread would look the best. Maybe some 1k would be small enough. If you spray adhered two pieces of carbon together I think it might be strong enough to go threw a sewing machine and not distort and then the colored thread could make what ever pattern you want just like what is done on head rests in cars or baseball hats. I don’t think grandma would like it if I wrecked her sewing machine.
Nylon or polyester thread may work or aramid. I never tried it
Carbon is difficult, but there is no reason not to use coloured polyester. The same is used in multiaxials. There white threads are used, but sometimes “enhanced” with blue, red or black stripes.
In the multiaxials we make we run coloured threads down the sides of the fabrics to let customers know easily what they are working with
Thanks guys I’m going to try it sometime the week when I can drive out there.
Formax? Cotech?
