If using core, always fill the core with epoxy/fill of some sort before you final cure, and drill holes. Also use anchor points that have wide shoulders to futher eliminate localized crushing.
There ARE actual companies that sell hardpoints…they are wide flanged things, so it can bond in the composite and hold tight.
closeouts. we make U channel pieces for our 1" cored panels, then glue them on. not much to it, only one ply.
