Electric blanket to heat tooling?

Just a thought while freezing here in mi.If I laminate an electric blanket on the outside of the mold think it would build enough temperature to justify the use of it? Epoxy laminations of coarse.

Im a little confused about your title, but if your looking to elevate temperature so that your laminates will cure better, your best to tent off your mold and put a space heater in there or some heat lamps. a heat blanket would probally work, but it wouldnt be necessary to laminate it on to the mold, just drap it over it

heating blanket? I know the one i use on my bed only heats humans, not things.

Build a box or tent out of flame proof materials then like Hojo said…space heater. You could probably get it up to 150F if it is insulated good.

Whilst your idea is a good one, there are other methods you can try. I don’t see too many problems with laminating a heating blanket, as long as you place one on the bagside as well. Also, make sure the resin in the mold doesn’t eat the plastic of the blanket! can cause failure.
otherwise, other heating systems have been used in mold making.

ps: autoclave means pressure vessel. which, if you have one, but no heating system, it would work just as well.
