Duratec question

Hi, first thanks for this forum and all the knowledge shared around here. Hope to contribute one day when I get the skills for it

I brought some duratec stuff. The guys were I brought it sent me this
http://www.duratec1.com/dp06.html high gloss clear. I thought I was buying something like clear coat but this does not look to do that, my idea was use this instead of automotive clear coat. Can I use this product for clear coat propose without worries?

Forgot to mention; using over carbon fiber

I usually run the duratec 1904-045 vinylester clear. Works as a good high build and sands easily but needs a proper clear on top for UV and scratch resistance. Draw backs are cost (I think I pay about $120 a gallon) and shelf life. Where in Portugal are you? I’m in Lisbon for the next 5 weeks.

Thanks for the info. So I have to use clear coat anyway. I will test to see the difference between with or without duratec. I’m in North. Usually in Porto. Vacations? Nc42

As far as I know, Duratec products do not have UV inhibitors. Acrylic Urethane clear coats do… but I believe you can’t spray AU clear into molds.

I know. I don’t want to spray into mold. It’s to finish parts in carbon
